Description

74121 IC Monostable Multivibrator DIP-14 The IC 74121 is a retriggerable monostable multivibrator, commonly called a one-shot pulse generator. It produces a single output pulse of precise duration whenever it detects a valid triggering event. The output pulse width depends on the values of an external resistor and capacitor connected to timing pins. Unlike non-retriggerable monostables, the 74121 extends the output pulse if it receives another trigger during an active pulse. This makes it ideal for timing control in noisy environments or circuits where multiple triggers may occur. You can trigger the IC through edge or level changes at either A or B inputs, and control its behavior further with the CLR (clear) input. The chip offers stable timing across a wide range of supply voltages and temperatures, and integrates easily with TTL-based systems. Designers frequently use the 74121 in pulse stretching, debounce filtering, delay generation, and timing control circuits. โš™๏ธ Key Features Retriggerable one-shot operation Precision output pulse width Accepts positive-edge, negative-edge, or level triggers External resistor-capacitor (RC) timing control TTL logic compatible Noise immunity through retriggering Built-in clamp diode protection Compact DIP-14 or SOIC-14 packaging ๐Ÿ“ฑ Applications Generate fixed-width timing pulses from variable inputs Stretch input pulses for digital processing Debounce mechanical switch inputs in control systems Delay signal transitions in sequential lo
