Description

The Encoder Wheel – 20 Slots is a simple yet effective mechanical component used to detect rotational motion in motors and wheels. It consists of a circular disk with 20 evenly spaced slots or cutouts, designed to work with an optical or infrared sensor. As the wheel rotates, these slots pass between a light source and a detector, allowing light to intermittently reach the sensor. Each time a slot passes through the sensor’s detection area, it generates a digital pulse. With 20 slots, the wheel provides 20 pulses per full rotation, making it suitable for low-resolution motion tracking and rotational feedback.
